(ANSA) – BRUSSELS, AUGUST 17 – “Serbia is ready to respect all the treaties it has signed, we want to avoid any possible escalation with NATO: we believe we have not given rise to any provocation”. Serbian president Aleksandar Vučić said this during the press conference with Jens Stoltenberg, NATO secretary general, adding that he does not believe that there are “real risks” of an “escalation” and accusing the Kosovar leadership of “political rhetoric”. “For 180 days they have accused us of preparing military actions but nothing has happened. We need a rational approach, negotiations, compromises. And we are ready”. (HANDLE).
