Media, Erdogan will speak with Putin about Zaporizhzhia this week

(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 22 – Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan intends to speak on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin this week to also discuss the situation of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the war in Ukraine: the state news agency writes Russian RIA Novosti, citing a diplomatic source.

Erdogan has specified that he wants to discuss with Putin the results of his talks held last week in Lviv with the Ukrainian President Vlodymyr Zelensky and the Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres, as well as asking the Russian president to take specific measures to resolve the situation of the central Zaporizhzhia.

“Yes, these negotiations are expected this week.

(Putin) outlined the issues earlier. It concerns the situation of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis in general. Turkey continues to play its honest role of mediation in this conflict, being the only country that has won the trust of both sides “, said the source. (ANSA).
