(ANSA) – BELGRADE, AUG 23 – After carrying out restoration works on the line, Moldova and Ukraine have reopened the railway section between Basarabeasca in Moldova and Berezine in Ukraine to freight traffic. This was announced today on Twitter by the spokesman of the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Daniel Voda. The line, about 22 kilometers long, had been closed to traffic for more than twenty years, local media recalled. From now on Moldova “will be able to export and import goods through the port of Ismail”, the largest Ukrainian port on the Danube delta, while Ukraine “will use the railway line to export goods to our country” and from there also to “States EU members, “added Voda.
