Ukraine: Many civilians leave Kiev for fear of Russian attacks

(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 23 – Many civilians are leaving Kiev in fear of a Russian attack tomorrow, Ukraine’s Independence Day: the advisor to the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Alex Rodnyansky, told Bbc Radio4.

Rodnyansky explained that there is “some concern” that an attack could hit the decision-making centers of the capital.

“There is a risk that Russia will strike to compensate for its inability to succeed on the battlefield and all the failures they have accumulated over the past six months,” he noted.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry advised Ukrainians to be especially careful on Independence Day, citing the threat of rocket attacks and “provocations” from Russia. (HANDLE).
