Kiev, Russians disconnect Zaporizhzhia power plant from the electricity grid

(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 25 – Russia has disconnected the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant from the Ukrainian national electricity grid.

This was announced by the Ukrainian agency UNIAN citing the operator Energoatom.

The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe, is “totally disconnected” from the grid after damage to the communication lines, Ukrainian operator Energoatom announced Thursday.

“The two reactors of the plant were disconnected from the grid. As a result, the actions of the invaders caused the nuclear power plant to be completely disconnected from the power grid for the first time in its history,” the state group Energoatom said on Telegram. (HANDLE).
