(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 25 – The director general of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, in an exclusive interview with France 24, expressed the hope that the visit of the International Atomic Energy Agency to the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine. Asked if the talks for an agreement with the Russians on access to the facility were successful, Grossi specified that “we are very, very close”, warning however that the operation was “extremely complex”.
“We have to go there, we have to stabilize the situation, we have to guarantee an IAEA presence soon”, he then stressed. (HANDLE).
