(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 27 – The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has asked the international community to support the petition ‘Put Putin on trial’ on the Avaaz platform: Ukrinform reports.
“By giving the order to attack Ukraine, Putin has committed the crime of aggression, the most serious of all crimes against international peace. This crime cannot and must not go unpunished. We therefore ask our international partners to support the establishment of the Special Tribunal on the crime of aggression against Ukraine. Global public support for the initiative is very important. We call on people from all over the world to sign the petition ‘Putin on trial’ “, said the Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in a message posted on Facebook.
Last March Kuleba called on the international community to create this Special Tribunal. Since then, the idea has garnered the support of the legal community and civil society, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, as well as 1 , 8 million people who signed a petition on the Avaaz platform.
