(ANSA) – KIEV, AUG 26 – The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant has been reconnected to the Ukrainian electricity grid. This was announced by the national energy company, Energoatom. “Today one of the reactors of the Zaporizhzhia power plant, which had been shut down yesterday, was connected to the electricity grid”, Energoatom announced on Telegram, adding that the safety systems are working regularly. The reconnection to the grid took place at 2:04 pm local time (12 am Italian time).
Yesterday the plant was isolated from the electricity grid due to fires caused by bombing which Kiev and Moscow accused each other of. The active reactors of the plant are two out of six. (HANDLE).
