(ANSA) – NEW YORK, AUG 28 – The president of the United States, Joe Biden, remembers the 59th anniversary of the march on Washington during which Martin Luther King gave his ‘I have a Dream’ speech. “As we are at another turning point in the history of our country, I am proud that my administration works every day to bring us closer to that dream,” says the American president, listing the progress made, but noting how “there is still a lot to do. 60 years later, this day reminds us of the road we have come, where we have to go and how far and long our journey is. And it reminds us that we must commit ourselves to the work of perfecting the country. Because as John Lewis said, ‘democracy is not a state, it is an action ‘”. (HANDLE).
