Entity reinforces request for measures to assist the mental health of professionals
WHO warns about the percentage of workers in the world with mental disorders
THE World Health Organization (WHO) stated, this Wednesday, 28, that about 15% of workers in the world have some type of mental disorder. With this, the entity and the International Labor Organization (OTI) reinforce the request for measures to assist the mental health of professionals. According to both organizations, it is estimated that diagnoses of depression and anxiety, for example, cost the global economy around US$ 1 trillion annually. In a statement, the health entity says that “WHO global guidelines on mental health at work recommend actions to address risks such as heavy workloads, negative behaviors and other factors that generate stress at work”, highlighted. In addition, the organization guides the conduction of management training to prevent stressful work environments. “O bullying and psychological violence are the main complaints of harassment in the workplace with a negative impact on mental health. However, discussing or giving visibility to mental health remains taboo in workplaces around the world.”
