US general warns of possible war with China in 2025

General Mike Minihan believes in the possibility of a military confrontation between China and the United States

A four-star US Air Force general U.S issued a warning about the possibility of a conflict with the China as early as 2025. The military declared that his instinct says that the fight will be fought because of Taiwan. In an internal memo, circulated on social media and later confirmed as genuine by the Pentagon, the head of the air mobility command, General Mike Minihan, stated that the main objective should be to deter and, if necessary, defeat China. According to the general, the presidential election in Taiwannext year, will give the Chinese president Xi Jinpinga pretext for military aggression while the US government is focused on its own electoral race for White House.

Many US congressmen are calling for increased assistance to Taiwan, including sending direct military aid. Lawmakers point out that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine shows the need for advance preparation. China held major military exercises in August last year that were seen as training for an invasion following the defiant solidarity visit to Taiwan by then Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi.
