Police in Ingolstadt believe the murder was a grisly plan devised by the woman, with the help of a 23-year-old Kosovar
Young man looked for a woman who looked like her to kill her and get out of trouble
A 23-year-old girl, who has dual nationality, German and Iraqi, is suspected of killing her ‘doppelganger’ in order to fake her own death and disappear because of family problems, reported the police of Germany. The crime was carried out with the help of an accomplice and took place in August 2022. The victim’s body was found inside a vehicle in Ingolstadt, in southern Bavaria. Initially, investigators believed that the victim was the owner of the vehicle, as her family claimed to recognize her. However, when performing the autopsy the next day, it was discovered that the victim was another woman. “The investigators assume that the suspect wanted to disappear due to some family problems and simulate her death”, revealed the local police on Monday, 30. According to the police, the suspects had “decided to look on the internet for a woman who if she looked like the Iraqi-German, kill her and place her in a way that would take her body as (if she were) the suspect”. Ingolstadt police are connecting the dots of what could be a macabre plan devised by the young woman, with the help of a 23-year-old Kosovar. The two suspects have been arrested since August. Before the murder, the German-Iraqi would have contacted several potential targets “who look like her, through various accounts on social networks, to encourage them to meet with her, making false promises”. Police said she came into contact with several young women.
