A curious gesture stole the show at the Congress of U.S this Tuesday, 8. During the transmission, the First Lady of the USA, Jill Bidenand US Vice President Kamala Harris’s husband, Doug Emhoff, greeted each other by giving what appears to be a ‘peck’ when they ran into each other at the event where Joe Biden, president of the country, delivered a State of the Union speech. The first lady received a huge applause when she arrived at the venue and walked over to the row of chairs where Doug was sitting. They leaned in and kissed. The gesture was widely commented on, including by opponents of the US president, such as former adviser to Donald Trump and former president of the country Kellyanne Conway. She shared a photo of the kiss and wrote: “Wow Covid is really over.” already the new york post chose to make a pun with the name of the event and called it “the kiss of the Union”.
