(ANSA) – ROME, OCTOBER 30 – Harry and Meghan, the dukes of Sussex, have signed a letter to the leaders of the G20 gathered in Rome to act together and immediately to put an end to the Covid-19 pandemic. The open letter, signed by WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. by the president of Save the Children Inger Ashing and by the heads of other NGOs, he asks in particular that poor countries be given the vaccine doses promised already at the G7 in June.

“Even the pharmaceutical companies have made the same promise – reads the letter, released by the British press – But while many nations do not even have enough vaccines for health personnel, the world is wondering: where are those doses?”.

“Of the approximately 7 billion vaccine doses injected, only 3% reached people living in low-income countries.

Where is the rest of it? “The Dukes of Sussex had already called for more fairness in the global vaccination campaign during a visit to New York last month.
