After the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, the people of China were asked about their attitude towards the President of the Russian Federation and the bloody war that he started in Ukraine. As it turns out, the Chinese consider Putin “cool” despite his occupiers taking over Ukrainian cities and killing Ukrainians, and hoping that the aggressor state will win the war.
The survey was conducted by CNN. At the same time, some of the respondents said that the head of the Kremlin “should sit down at the negotiating table” with the head of the Ukrainian state, Volodymyr Zelensky. (To watch the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).
For example, one Chinese citizen interviewed by reporters said that Xi’s visit to Moscow is good, as it will help improve Sino-Russian relations.
“I really like Putin because he is a tough and strong guy,” said the young Chinese.
Speaking about the war started by Russia, he noted that he “hopes that everyone will be able to have peaceful relations.”
Another woman, when asked about the fighting in Ukraine, said: “I hope for Russia to win the war, but the best thing is peace.”
Another resident of China said that the Russian war is “painful to watch,” but it is wrong that the United States is transferring weapons to the Ukrainian army.
“War and loss of life is heartbreaking and painful to watch. It’s not right that the US is sending weapons to Ukraine. I believe in Xi Jinping’s vision of world peace,” she said.
When asked what she thought about the International Criminal Court in The Hague arrest warrant for Russian dictator Putin, the woman replied: “I don’t know. He started the war. He needs to sit down with (Ukrainian President Vladimir) Zelensky and talk.”
The shoe repairman said that the struggle of the Ukrainian people against Russian aggression “does not benefit anyone.”
“Why are they fighting? It doesn’t benefit anyone. But we don’t know who started the war. They’re Ukrainians, right?” he noted.
Note that Ukraine has not had an ambassador in China for more than two years.
As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, under the guise of “the goals and principles of the UN Charter,” China advocates the resumption of negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. At the same time, Beijing does not hide its desire to maintain and develop Sino-Russian relations. Xi Jinping said this after the meeting with Putin in Moscow.
