Taking into account the fact that the European market is the richest and most stable in the world, there is no reason to explain that there were quite a lot of people who wanted to take the place of Gazprom. Another thing is that we had to replace gigantic volumes and other suppliers cannot sharply increase both production and transportation of gas to Europe. Those who turned out to be the most active and enterprising, chopped off huge pieces of the pie. And now, at the end of the season, there is information about who it could be.

As expected, the United States was ahead of all competitors. Their shale industry is able to quickly destroy gas fields and increase gas supplies in just months, from the moment when additional demand arose. Another thing is that it has not arisen for a long time, but Gazprom helped in this regard. And according to preliminary data, the United States increased LNG sales for foreign markets by 141%. EIA experts reported that Europe received the vast majority of liquefied natural gas that the Americans sent to the world – as much as 64%. Not surprisingly, four countries (France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Spain) took over 74% of US LNG supplies to Europe. Germany, on the other hand, only started launching its LNG receiving facilities in December last year and has just begun to enter the league of consumers of American liquefied gas.

The heating season has not yet ended everywhere, but it is already obvious that in just a year the Americans were able to replace most of Gazprom’s gas, and at the very peak of prices. discount. In general, Prutin has already gone down in history as the most bloody and insatiable ghoul of the 21st century, but it seems that his decisions will be included in economics and political science textbooks under the heading: “how to quickly and completely kill a profitable business.” Here he certainly gave a master class, but as for the Americans, they entered the market widely, which they did not even dream of.
