Erdogan, during a conversation with Putin, urged him to end the war in Ukraine and voiced a way

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, once again stated the need for an “immediate end” to the war in Ukraine. He proposes to do this through negotiations.

This writes the Turkish edition of the Daily Sabah. It is also reported that Erdogan thanked Putin for continuing the “grain initiative”.

“Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pointed out to Russian President Vladimir Putin the importance that Turkey attaches to the immediate end of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict through negotiations,” the Turkish Communications Department quoted the publication as saying.

The two presidents also discussed “steps to strengthen Turkish-Russian relations on the basis of the economic cooperation agreed in Sochi,” referring to their meeting last August.

“During the talks, Erdogan and Putin agreed to increase the volume of bilateral trade to $100 billion and take concrete steps to strengthen energy, trade and economic cooperation,” the Turkish newspaper writes.

It is also noted that Erdogan thanked Putin for his positive position on the continuation of the Black Sea “grain initiative”.

As you know, in July 2022, Turkey, the United Nations, Russia and Ukraine signed an agreement in Istanbul that resumed grain exports from three Ukrainian ports blocked by Russia after the start of the war in February of that year.

On March 18, 2023, the government of Ukraine announced the extension of the grain initiative for 120 days, although Russia initially agreed to only 60. The preliminary extension of the agreement expired on March 18.

Earlier, GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported that Russia was ready for a diplomatic settlement of the full-scale war provoked by it with Ukraine, but only if all sanctions and lawsuits in international instances were lifted from the Russian Federation. Also, Moscow continues to insist on stopping the supply of weapons to Ukraine, a non-bloc status and “international recognition of new territorial realities.” It is clear that no one in the civilized world would accept such conditions.

For its part, the peace formula proposed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and supported by the West contains ten points providing for the withdrawal of Russian troops and the cessation of hostilities, the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, the prevention of escalation, fixing the end of the war.
