In Hungary, they issued that they would not support Ukraine’s entry into the EU because of the “danger” for schools in Transcarpathia

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijarto stated that his country will not support Ukraine’s integration into the EU and NATO. The reason for this, he called “danger” for schools in Transcarpathia.

He made such a statement after a meeting with UN Under-Secretary-General for Human Rights Ilse Brands Haris. This is reported by Hungary Posts.

The foreign minister said that “while 1,300 Hungarian schools and kindergartens are accepting refugee children and students from Ukraine, 99 Hungarian primary and secondary schools in Ukraine are under threat of closure due to the Ukrainian law on education.”

According to him, since 2015, a number of laws have been adopted in Ukraine that step by step violated and reduced the rights of minoritiesrelated to the use of native language

“Over the past eight years, we have constantly received promises from the Ukrainian authorities that they will solve this problem, but in fact they have done nothing,” Szijarto said.

“I made it clear to the UN Under-Secretary-General for Human Rights, Ilse Brands Haris, that Hungary will under no circumstances be able to support Ukraine’s transatlantic and European integration while Hungarian schools in Transcarpathia are in danger,” he said.

Recall, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijarto said that in order to end the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the leaders of the terrorist state of the Russian Federation and the United States should talk to each other. The diplomat actually repeated the Kremlin’s narrative that Russia is allegedly fighting from the United States, and not from Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on the head of Siyarto to stop playing along with the aggressor country Russia. The Ukrainian diplomatic department noted that in this way the Hungarian politician would provide a great service to humanity.

Earlier it was reported that Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijarto recently visited Minsk. According to him, in the Belarusian capital, he “talked about peace” in Ukraine. The diplomat said that it is necessary to save human lives, and this can only be done with peace.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban once again got into a scandal, saying that in the west his country borders on German-speaking people, and in the east – “with Russians.” He did not mention Ukraine, with which Hungary really borders.

By the way, earlier the head of the Hungarian government compared Ukraine with Afghanistan and called it “no man’s land.”
