In China allowed the possibility of a meeting or a telephone conversation between their leader Xi Jinping and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. The corresponding issue was discussed by Kyiv and Beijing.
This was announced by China’s permanent representative to the EU Fu Cun, writes the Financial Times. Earlier, Zelensky sent Xi an invitation to Ukraine, saying he wanted to talk to the head of China.
“Telephone conversation or meeting between Zelensky and Chinese President Xi Jinping possible” said Fu Cun.
Recall: earlier in Beijing, they responded to the invitation of the President of Ukraine, positively evaluating this initiative, but noted that it was not yet necessary to talk about a specific date for the meeting.
“We are in contact with all parties. As for specific details, I have no information,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning.
For his part, the head of China, after a meeting with his Russian counterpart, said that Beijing is in favor of resuming negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. ISW analysts believe that Putin’s expectations from negotiations with Xi Jinping did not materialize.
The European Union insists on negotiations between Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. EU diplomats are making efforts to hold a conversation, believing that China should cooperate on the issue of resolving the war not only with the Russian Federation, but also with Ukraine.
