In Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan, 19 lovers of the Soviet Union declared the “independence” of this settlement and the creation of the “People’s Council of Workers”, a video of this “declaration” quickly spread on the network. On the fact of the provocation, a criminal case has been initiated due to separatism, investigative and operational measures are being carried out.
Each of the defendants faces 5 to 10 years behind bars. This is reported by the Kazakh media.
Yes, a video appeared on the network, where 19 activists announce the “independence” of the city of Petropavlovsk from Kazakhstan. At the same time, they call themselves “the people”, and Kazakhstan – the “Kazakh SSR”.
“We, the free people, men and women, working residents of the city of Petropavlovsk North Kazakhstan, because of the fictitious legal basis of the corporation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, because of the creation of unfavorable conditions for the life of the people, and also because of the incapacity and dishonor of its agents, declare complete distrust of all founders of the management of our property and resource “We, the people, proclaim our independence, autonomy and sovereignty. We remind you of the inevitability of preserving the common indivisible national heritage, of the immutability of civil property rights in our native land, and we are reviving the People’s Council of Workers in the city of Petropavlovsk,” the separatists say in a March 19 video.
Among other things, the dissatisfaction of the adherents of the USSR was caused by the existing system of education in Kazakhstan, medicine and food products, “not corresponding to DSTU”.
The separatists also adopted the so-called “declaration”, “draft charter”, “symbols of the People’s Council”, established a seal and a draft form of the participant’s certificate.
However, now they will evaluate the effectiveness of the law enforcement system of Kazakhstan.
“While we live in 2023, 19 activists from Petropavlovsk live somewhere between 1936-1990. They call the country not Kazakhstan, but the Kazakh SSR, they do not recognize the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the most interesting thing is that they declare their independence by creating the People’s Council of Workers You might think that this is a strange prank, but it wasn’t there, a criminal case has already been initiated against the “independents”, investigative and operational measures are being carried out.By the way, accounts with a similar theme of love for the USSR were seen on the network back in Ust-Kamenogorsk and Taraz “, – noted in Kazpress.kz.
According to Kazpress.kz, a criminal case has been initiated against separatists from the so-called “People’s Council of Northern Kazakhstan”. The police will figure out if the people in the video are residents of the North Kazakhstan region. And the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kazakhstan noted that the case was opened under the article “Propaganda of separatism by a group of individuals using the media”, the sanction of which provides for 5 to 10 years in prison.
“On March 30, 2023, the Department of the National Security Committee for the North Kazakhstan region launched a pre-trial investigation under Article 180 Part 2 of the Criminal Code (propaganda of separatism by a group of individuals using the media) on the fact of posting a video on the creation of the “People’s Council of Workers” on social networks. On the same day, an interdepartmental investigative-operational group was created for investigators from the State Committee for National Security and the State Prosecutor’s Office of the region. Procedural prosecutors were appointed in the case. As part of the pre-trial investigation, operational-investigative measures are being carried out, including searches and seizures, and appropriate forensic examinations have been appointed. Other information in accordance with Art. .201 The Code of Criminal Procedure is not subject to disclosure. The progress of the investigation is under the control of the Prosecutor General’s Office,” the department noted.

It is noteworthy that in the Russian Federation for several years now claims have been made on the territory of Northern Kazakhstan: for some reason, they are considered “primordially Russian” in the aggressor state.
Recall that in January it became known that in Kazakhstan the deputy was expelled from the party for supporting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Kazakh MP Azamat Abildaev has made clear his support for the Kremlin’s policies and said that “neo-Nazis rule” in Ukraine.
For this, the deputy paid with membership in the party, his former party members also appealed to the Central Election Commission with a request to withdraw his mandate.
