(ANSA) – BAGHDAD, NOV 06 – New pro-Iranian demonstrations took place today in Baghdad to protest against the results of the legislative elections of 10 October in Iraq, in the aftermath of the street violence in which at least one victim was recorded .
Hundreds of demonstrators gathered near the so-called Green Zone of the Iraqi capital, which houses embassies and government buildings, after the Alliance of Conquest, the political arm of the paramilitary militias Hashed al-Shaabi, which lost numerous seats, denounced ” massive fraud “in the polls. Among the slogans chanted by the demonstrators, “No to America” and “No to fraud”, while some burned the images of Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazimi.
The demonstrations come as the parties continue the debate on the possible formation of a governing coalition. (HANDLE).
