Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, known for his controversial statements about the war in Ukraine, held talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. The bunker president invited Silva to Russia.
However, the Brazilian refused to visit the aggressor country. He wrote about this on his account in Twitter on Friday, May 26th.
The Brazilian president said that Putin invited him to the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, but it seems that da Silva cannot come to Russia.
At the same time, he said that he confirmed to the Kremlin dictator “the readiness of Brazil, as well as India, Indonesia and China, to communicate with both sides of the “conflict” to establish peace.”

Recall that the President of Brazil was criticized for “peacekeeping” statements about the war in Ukraine. In particular, he said that Ukraine should “cede” the occupied Crimea to Russia, and also that the West, by supplying weapons to Kyiv, “drags out” the war.
Lula da Silva also stated that it is time for the States to stop participating in the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. In his opinion, this “conflict” is of interest only to the heads of two states – Zelensky and Putin.
In addition, the politician said that third countries could help stop the war through negotiations. He considers it a good idea to create a group of intermediaries like the G20, which will include developed countries with large economies.
After a flurry of criticism, Lula da Silva still called Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine a mistake in Moscow. He said that he would not make personal visits to either Ukraine or Russia for the time being.
As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry invited Brazilian President da Silva to visit Ukraine in order to understand the true causes and essence of Russian aggression and its consequences for global security.
