On Saturday, May 27, large protests took place in The Hague in the west of the Netherlands, during which demonstrators blocked one of the main highways – the city’s key arteries. Such measures were agreed upon by the municipal authorities, so the police were sent against the columns of the protesters.
This was reported by NOS agency. The rally was organized by environmental activists, local residents are dissatisfied with the policy of the leadership of the Netherlands on the planet’s resources.
“The protests gathered thousands of participants. More than 1,500 were detained, but they were immediately released. Since the demonstrators did not leave the road at the request of the police, law enforcement officers were forced to use water cannons. Due to the fact that it was a clear, rather hot day on Saturday, the protesters took a” shower “as entertainment,” the atmosphere is conveyed to the media.
However, not everything was so innocent. One of the detainees bit a police officer on the finger, for which he received suspicion. About 40 more criminal cases were initiated against demonstrators who resisted law enforcement agencies.
Earlier, GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported that on the eve of Kosovo there were unrest between the Kosovo special detachment and Serbs protesting against the election results. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic led the army to maximum readiness, and the country’s defense minister confirmed the urgent advance of troops to the administrative border with the partially recognized republic.
