(ANSA) – TUNIS, 07 NOV – The president of the Libyan High Electoral Commission (Hnec), Emad El-Sayeh, announced at a press conference the start of the electoral process with the filing of candidacies for the presidential and parliamentary elections, in starting tomorrow.
According to the Libyan media Al-Wasat, El-Sayeh explained that the deadline for the filing of presidential candidacies is 22 November, while for the legislative elections on 7 December. According to the same source, the president of the High Electoral Commission also stated that the Commission he chaired had received, from the House of Representatives (Hor) in Tobruk, all the technical amendments relating to the laws on parliamentary and presidential elections scheduled for 24 December. , specifying that these “amendments allow the Commission to implement the two electoral processes without contesting the measures of their execution”.
