After traveling through several countries in northern Europe, the Secretary of State for U.S, Antony Blinkenarrived in Helsinki, capital of Finland. The country has been a recurring theme throughout 2023 as it is the newest member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Blinken claimed that the wartime evidenced the true plans of the Russia and which, contrary to what many believe, weakened the president Vladimir Putin in the economic and political aspects, since one of the Russian’s objectives was that NATO did not grow. In addition to Finland, Sweden is claiming to be the next member of NATO, which depends only on an obstacle imposed by Turkey and which should be discussed bilaterally in the coming months. Blinken said that the Russian economy has worsened, the economic crisis is also evidence that Russia’s plans were frustrated and he condemned the countries that talk about the peace plan that involves the current war lines, because, according to him, if the weapons were lowered in that moment, it would benefit the aggressor and punish the victim.
