In the United States, a plane crashed chasing two F-16 jet fighters: details

A Cessna 560 Citation V private jet crashed in the United States while chasing two F-16 jet fighters of the District of Columbia National Guard. The pilot of the aircraft did not respond to the demands of the aerospace defense command.

The plane crash occurred near the George Washington National Forest in Virginia. This is reported by USA Today.

The US Capitol complex was briefly put on high alert until a private jet left the area, according to the US military. After the plane crashed, search operations carried out by state and local authorities continued for several hours.

No survivors were found at the crash site, and the Virginia State Police suspended search operations. The interception of the plane set off sonic booms throughout the Washington region, and fighter jets also fired flares to attract the pilot.

The Annapolis Office of Emergency Management in Maryland said the loud sound in the sky was caused by a fighter jet in flight.

“The loud rumble was caused by a US Department of Defense authorized flight. This flight caused a sonic boom. This is all the information available at the moment,” the Annapolis Office of Emergency Management said in a statement.
