In the Indian city of Bhagalpur, a four-lane bridge across the Ganges River, built between Sultanganj and Aguvan, collapsed for the second time. It is noteworthy that over $200 million was allocated for the construction of the bridge.

The unfortunate bridge began to be built back in 2014, but the completion date for the bridge was missed eight times. According to eyewitnesses, when the bridge began to collapse, many people worked on it. It is noteworthy that so far there have been no reports of casualties or deaths from local authorities.
The work was planned to be completed by March 2019, but by that time even 25% of the work could not be completed properly. The state government later extended the deadline to March 2020 and then to 2022.
Instead of punishing the construction company for the delay, the government continued to give time to complete the work. On April 30, 2022, due to strong wind and rain, the superstructure between the 4th and 6th pillars of the bridge collapsed.
At that time, serious questions were raised about the construction work, but no action was taken against the company. At the same time, the companies were given more time to complete the bridge.
Recall that as a result of a train collision on June 2 in the city of Balasore, Odisha, India, it is already known about 294 dead, more than 1,000 people were injured. This train accident became the deadliest in the country for more than 20 years.
It was previously reported that in India, food inspector Rajesh Vishwas ordered millions of liters of water to be pumped out of a reservoir in order to find his smartphone. The official argued this act by saying that the gadget allegedly contained confidential government data requiring seizure.
