New Zealand: premier live on Fb interrupted by 3-year-old daughter

(ANSA) – ROME, NOVEMBER 10 – Funny curtain for New Zealand premier Jacinda Ardern who while she was talking live on Facebook about the anti-Covid restrictions in the country was interrupted by her three-year-old daughter, Neve.

“Mom !!”, the child is heard calling. The premier, smiling, replies: “You should be in bed, honey, it’s bedtime”. But the little girl seems to have no intention of going to sleep, so Ardern eventually gives in. “Go to bed, I’ll be right there!”. The premier then apologized to those who were following her live. “I didn’t think it would take that long!”.

Ardern was the first leader in over 20 years to give birth to a son while in office. Before her only Benazir Butto who had her second child when he was premier of Pakistan in 1990. When she was still in the running to become premier of New Zealand, Ardern attracted the attention of the media around the world by silencing a reporter who asked her if she intended to have children in case she was elected. An “unacceptable” question for any woman in any workplace, was the curt response of the then 37-year-old Labor worker and ‘Jacindamania’ immediately broke out.
