Wine Show in Brasilia with over 150 Italian labels

(ANSA) – BRAZIL, NOVEMBER 12 – The Italian Embassy in Brazil hosted the Italian Wine Show in Brasilia, a specialized event, with the participation of a selected audience, curated by the Italian-Brazilian food and wine critics, Sueli Maestri.

Twelve of the main wine importers and distributors have brought over 150 labels from 12 Italian regions. For the first time at the Wine Show, three Brazilian wineries of Italian origin (Casa Perini, La Grande Bellezza and Vinicola Cristofori), also presented their native wines, the result of the family experience of generations of Italians who settled in Brazil since 1870.

“Brazilian gastronomy fits perfectly with the extraordinary sensations produced by Italian and Italian-Brazilian wines, many of which are excellent”, declared the ambassador, Francesco Azzarello, underlining the “effort to promote the culture of wine in Brazil and its desirable future promotion abroad “.

“The only problem with wines in Brazil is a penalizing taxation with consequences on prices to the detriment of a wider audience”, concluded the diplomat. (HANDLE).
