    Floods in Europe

Many European countries have experienced flooding this year.

    • In early September, in the Spanish province of Alcanar, streams of water flooded the plains and streets, washed away dozens of cars and caused traffic to stop.
    • At the end of July, the streets of the British capital looked more like Venetian canals. The railway stations of Switzerland also went under water.
    • Large water in Germany destroyed the railways. The FRG authorities admitted that as a result of the downpour in July, the country faced such large-scale destruction for the first time.
