Canada bans “conversion therapy” for members of the LGBTQ community. In a rare show of unanimity in the Ottawa Parliament, a surprise motion was passed by Conservatives to speed up the green light.
“I dream of the day when LGBTQ issues will no longer be political issues. And we are one day closer to that moment,” commented liberal MP Randy Boissonnault.
Canadian Justice Minister David Lametti, for his part, praised the Conservatives for moving forward with the motion: “There are clearly people among them who have exercised great leadership, and I thank them.” we can do when Parliament works together “.
