Migrants: Canaries, one dead on a boat with 18 other people

(ANSA) – MADRID, DECEMBER 07 – The Spanish authorities have certified the death of one of the 19 people traveling on board a boat rescued yesterday evening near La Gomera, one of the Canary Islands. The archipelago emergency service reports.

Iberian news agencies add that some of the survivors have been transported to hospital due to their poor health conditions.

The Canary Emergency Service also reports that in the last few hours another boat was rescued off the coast of Gran Canaria: on board there were 52 people, of which nine were hospitalized.

The NGO Caminando Fronteras, through its spokesperson Helena Maleno, reported that it had collected testimonies according to which 56 people had boarded the departure from Africa, so four would be missing: it would be a small child, two women it’s a man. The figure has not been confirmed, for the moment, by the Spanish authorities. (HANDLE).
