Austria, tens of thousands take to the streets against vaccine requirements

(ANSA) – ROME, 11 DEC – Tens of thousands of people demonstrated today in Vienna against the obligation to vaccinate against Covid and the lockdown for the unvaccinated. The police, reports the Guardian, estimated 44,000 participants in the demonstration, the umpteenth since Austria, the first country in the EU, announced the obligation to vaccinate.

A partial lockdown in effect since last month will end tomorrow night for those who are vaccinated, but not for those who are not.

“No to vaccine fascism”, read a placard carried by demonstrators, while another read “I am not a neo-Nazi or a hooligan, I fight for freedom and against the vaccine”.

The Austrian government has established that from February the vaccine will become mandatory for all citizens over the age of 14, with the exception of those who cannot be vaccinated for health reasons. (HANDLE).
