(ANSA) – ROME, DEC 12 – The Australian government is allegedly turning a deaf ear, not responding to the appeals of organizations and supporters in favor of its citizen Julian Assange, who risks extradition from London prison to the US. This is what the Guardian writes, according to which Canberra makes it known that it is “following the case closely” but wants to “continue to respect the legal tender, including future appeals to British justice” against extradition, continuing not to to be a “party to the dispute”.
After the recent ruling that overturned the previous refusal to grant extradition to the founder of Wikileaks, who risks heavy convictions for espionage in the United States, the defense of Assange and the organizations that support him have turned to the Australian conservative prime minister, Scott Morrison , asking him to spend himself for the release of the Australian Assange and to put an end to this “madness”.
