(ANSA) – LONDON, DEC 15 – Queen Elizabeth has yet to make a final decision on whether or not to hold the traditional Christmas lunch with members of the extended royal family (including the sovereign’s cousins) at Windsor Castle due to fears about spread of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus in Britain. The PA news agency reports that Elizabeth would be eager to host the event that was canceled last year due to the pandemic.
According to the tabloid Sun, there are Prince Charles and Camilla among the approximately 50 guests for the party, already organized in detail. Surely in the choice of whether or not to have lunch, the risks of a possible contagion that the sovereign could run with so many people present also count. Elizabeth spent a long period of rest imposed by the court doctors in which she limited herself to light work in Windsor Castle and very rare institutional meetings in person. Among these, the one that took place today with Haitham bin Tariq al Said, the Sultan of Oman. (HANDLE).
