Visiting Chinathe President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva criticized what he called “foolishness of armed conflicts” and cited the cases of wars in Palestine and in Ukraine. This Tuesday (13), the Brazilian leader argued that ending these conflicts “is a precondition for development” and said that understandings signed between Brazil and China “for a political resolution for the crisis in Ukraine offer the basis for a comprehensive dialogue that allows the return of peace to Europe.”

“Humanity is appealed to the atrocities committed in Gaza. There will be no peace without independent and viable Palestine, living side by side with the State of Israel. Only a renovated UN can fulfill the ideals of peace, human rights and social progress consecrated in 1945 in the Charter of San Francisco,” said the president, who again argued that the United Nations Security Council reflect greater diversity. Lula gave the speech on Tuesday, 13, along with China President Xi Jinping.
