(ANSA) – SAN SALVADOR, DEC 27 – The El Salvador Navy seized 4.1 tons of cocaine during an operation in the Pacific Ocean in which five Colombians and two Ecuadorians who were transporting it on two semi-submersible boats were arrested: President Nayib Bukele said so.
Value of the seized drug, just under 104 million dollars.
According to the president, this is the “largest drug seizure” carried out under the Territorial Control Plan, which takes its name from his government’s security and anti-crime strategy. On November 20, Salvadoran authorities seized 2.5 tons of cocaine worth $ 62.5 million during an operation in the Pacific Ocean.
