(ANSA) – BRASILIA, 07 JAN – In Brazil 45.717 thousand people were infected with the coronavirus yesterday, a day that recorded a record of cases since 18 September last year.
The toll of infections since the beginning of the pandemic has thus risen to 22,395,322.
The moving average has stood at 17,100 infected per day throughout the past week, up 477% from the 14-day average.
In the past 24 hours, another 171 deaths have also been recorded, raising the death toll to 619,730, with an average of 101 deaths per day in the past week, 10% less than two weeks ago.
In parallel, 161.5 million people have already received at least one dose, the equivalent of 75.5% of the population. The Brazilians who received two doses instead amounted to 143.9 million, or 67.4% of the population. (HANDLE).
