Defense plan for Ukraine: blow up the railway and open fire on enemy trucks

American experts named one of the reasons why it would be difficult for the Russian army to invade Ukraine and start a large-scale war. This reason is the lack of military trucks, which should provide the Russian army with food, fuel and weapons.

This conclusion was made by the military expert of Forbes magazine.

Serious problem

The American expert recalls that the Russian army is traditionally weak in logistics and supplies. For decades, Russia avoided deploying large military formations far from the borders, preferring to build up armor and air formations, as well as a submarine fleet, in preparation for an attack on Western adversaries. Therefore, it has developed “logistics support” brigades along the railroad, but not enough trucks to supply ammunition to the army that went to the neighbors.

“The Russian military has traditionally been weak when it comes to supplies, and the situation may have been exacerbated by rash attempts at logistics reform. Namely, the Kremlin transferred most of the orders to a commercial firm for supporting front-line battalions“, writes Forbes.

The situation

• As is known, Russia has deployed about 100,000 troops near the borders of Ukraine, and the other day “unexpectedly” began new military exercises. The media even published a map of the locations of Russian troops.
• The American television channel CNN reported that Russia is preparing a special operation in the Donbas under a false flag to justify its invasion of Ukraine.
• On January 14, Russia tried to bring down the networks of the Ukrainian authorities by organizing a cyberattack on their websites. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov has no doubts about this.
• Earlier it was reported that the most likely period for an invasion of Ukraine is the second half of January. Allegedly, by this moment the transfer of troops will end, plus negotiations between the Russian Federation and the United States, NATO and the OSCE will take place.
