(ANSA) – PARIS, JANUARY 15 – “Encouraging” signals arrive from the health authorities in France: despite the open schools and an almost normal daily life, the fifth wave – which has reached very high peaks of infections (over 300,000 for several days ) – seems to slow down. And the positive signs – downward curve and decreasing entries in intensive care – have been coming for 3 days in two regions, that of Paris (Ile-de-France) and Corsica.
The Paris Hospitals have noted a clear decrease in the percentage of hospitalizations compared to symptomatic cases: if at the beginning of December it was 6 hospitalizations per 100 symptomatic, in the first week of January it became 2 in 100.
Furthermore, the number of beds occupied in resuscitation has been decreasing for some days, even during the increase in cases of positivity and hospital admissions. (HANDLE).
