Yemen: Saudi raids in the night, a country without the Internet

During the night, the Saudi air force carried out intense air strikes on Yemeni cities in the hands of pro-Iranian Huthi insurgents and the Internet connection in the country was cut off. This was reported by pan-Arab media, citing international organizations that monitor the functioning of the Internet in the world in real time.
According to reports from the NetBlocks organization, the Saudi bombings carried out overnight against Hudayda, a Yemeni port on the Red Sea, caused a total Internet blackout throughout the country.
Sources say that transmission stations inside a building in TeleYemen, the Yemeni national provider controlled by Huthi insurgents for years, were hit in particular.
The latter, except for the Al Masira TV, claim that “several people” were killed in the air raid against the TeleYemen building in Hudayda, without however providing accurate death tolls. “You dig under the rubble,” says al Masira.
For its part, the Saudi government for now does not confirm and deny the fact. But yesterday Riyadh announced the start of a vast military operation against the Houthis, who had claimed in recent days the unprecedented air strikes against oil installations in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.
