The US response to Russia’s demands for security guarantees paves the way for organizing negotiations on restrictions on the placement of intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF).
This is reported by The New York Times, referring to the documents that were at the disposal of the publication.
According to them, Russia’s written response states that the United States is set to discuss mutual rules to limit the INF. In addition, the American side and its allies are ready to negotiate the introduction of mutual rules that limit the scope and location of military exercises, so that the movement of the military could not be regarded as a drawdown of forces for a potential attack.
It is also clearly stated in the answer that the Russian Federation will not have the right to veto on the deployment of nuclear weapons, troops or conventional weapons.
