USA: Trump tries to have Cheney expelled from the Republican party

(ANSA) – NEW YORK, 01 FEB – Donald Trump tries to have his bitter enemy Liz Cheney expelled from the Republican party.

As the Washington Post reveals, his ally David Bossie (twice advisor to the tycoon’s campaign and member of the Maryland National Commission) has tabled a resolution to the leadership of the Grand Old Party calling for the ex-deputy daughter to be kicked out of the House. US president Dick Cheney, and also deputy Adam Kinzinger. The resolution – which will be discussed this week at the party’s annual meeting in Salt Lake City – is co-sponsored by Frank Eathorne, president of the Republican Party of Wyoming and an ally of Trump.

The president of the Republican National Committee Ronna McDaniel, however, has not yet taken a position. If the move were to pass it would be an unusual and public reprimand by the party against two of its members in office in Congress. According to information revealed by sources informed to the WP, in the resolution Bossie cites as motivation the work of Cheney and Kinzinger for the commission of the House that investigates the attacks of January 6, together with their efforts to “destroy President Trump”.
