(ANSA) – RANGOUN, 01 FEB – Residents of several large cities in Burma challenged the junta with applause on the occasion of the first anniversary of the coup that plunged the country into violence.

Authorities have warned that such actions could constitute high treason, a crime punishable by long years of imprisonment.
The Burmese junta is a “criminal enterprise”, said a UN expert, announcing the imminent publication of a report on the weapons that continue to flow into the country, a year after the coup.
