USA: storm, 9,000 flights canceled and 350,000 without electricity

(ANSA) – ROME, FEBRUARY 04 – The bad weather in the United States persists from Texas to Ohio with snow, ice and strong winds that are creating serious inconvenience to transport. More than 9,000 flights canceled today alone, adding to the other 2,000 left on the ground on Wednesday 2 February, when the storm began. Some schools and universities have been closed due to bad weather conditions.

Meanwhile, the number of people left without electricity has risen to 350,000 after the freezing rain and snow hit the electricity poles. Tennessee, with 151,000 people without electricity, Arkansas, Texas and Ohio are among the hardest hit states.

In Alabama, however, where the storm manifested itself in the form of a tornado, a woman was killed and three others were seriously injured. (HANDLE).
