The large US component company BorgWarner has launched the first hydrogen injection system intended for mass production, capable of bringing to the vehicles to which it will be applied – currently vehicles for construction sites – the advantages of zero CO2 emissions, of the great efficiency, maintenance of range (not penalized by the batteries) and rapidity of refueling.
“This company milestone strengthens the long-standing relationship with our customer – said Davide Girelli, vice president general manager BorgWarner Fuel Injection Systems – and we are pleased to supply them with the complete hydrogen injection system, including fuel injectors, rail , electronic control unit and system integration “.
As a provider of hydrogen technology solutions, BorgWarner works with OEMs in all vehicle segments, from passenger cars to light and heavy commercial vehicles for on and off-road applications, and can supply them with single components or complete key solutions. in hand that integrate the entire fuel injection system, including controllers, software and calibration.
Hydrogen technology is a solution that can be brought to market quickly as it requires only minor modifications to traditional internal combustion engines. Since hydrogen has a substantially lower density than gasoline and diesel, the engine’s injection system needs a new solution to meet the fuel and storage requirements.
BorgWarner – drawing on years of experience in the field of injection systems – is actively working on hydrogen components for low, medium and high pressure environments, including fuel port and direct injection solutions.
