Stolen car traffic, police confiscate assets for 600 thousand euros

The Turin Police Headquarters confiscated assets worth 600,000 euros from a 56-year-old resident of Leinì, with several definitive convictions behind him for crimes against property. In particular, the man, in 2020, had ended up in an investigation by the traffic police of the Piedmontese capital as he belonged to a gang dedicated to theft and receiving stolen goods from luxury cars. Once stolen, the cars were disassembled into various parts and then exported to Morocco. The man was convicted at first instance in 2021. Among the confiscated assets, also the car demolition company, fictitiously registered to a family member, through which the 56-year-old allegedly carried out the business of stealing luxury vehicles. The investigations of the investigators of the Anti-Crime Police Division revealed that the man declared incomes on the poverty line, while instead flaunting a high standard of living. In addition to the car demolition company, a villa worth half a million euros was also confiscated, inhabited by the 56-year-old but also registered to a family member.
A car, various vehicles used for the business activity and current accounts attributable to the same were seized. Finally, the Court of Turin issued the special surveillance prevention measure against him for three years, with the obligation to stay in the municipality of residence.
