Cars: Federmotorizzazione, the game is not over yet

Federmotorizzazione, the Confcommercio federation of car dealers is satisfied with the postponement of the vote on the stop to endothermic cars in the EU starting from 2035. This was stated by the president Simonpaolo Buongiardino, who underlines how “the majority first heralded by the EU Presidency seems to weaken and the game that seemed closed, is now no longer”.

“After the great illusion of the ‘everyone electric and immediately’ ideology – explains Buongiardino – there comes an important pause for reflection on the benches of the European Union which finally seems to want to listen to the continuous requests received, as regards Italy by trade associations”.

“All together – he underlines – they are alongside the Italian representation in the EU and keep the point on a decision that would upset the automotive system and one of the main productive industries of our country”. The postponement of the vote is therefore “a glimmer of light to safeguard the excellent technologies, in particular from Italy and other European countries, which they would like to cancel for the benefit of the Chinese economy and industry”. “An applause – continues Buongiardino – goes to Minister Matteo Salvini, who led our representation, and to the action of the Lombardy Region which, by working hard alongside businesses and presenting real and not just ideological contents, had also contributed to creating a group made up of European countries opposed to the stop from 2035 and to which Germany seems to be added from today, no longer so convinced of the usefulness of this measure”. “Finally – concludes the president of Federmotorizzazione Simonpaolo Buongiardino – a new wind of common sense is breathing. Technological development, in fact, appears close to a turning point in a short time on the issue of alternative fuels with high environmental quality”.
