In Ferrara the national meeting of the ‘Bianchine’

The legendary Bianchina, symbol of an era, will parade in Ferrara and its surrounding area, with cars from all over Italy, for three days. The appointment is on 28-29-30 April, for the gathering of historic Italian models, entitled ‘La Bianchina Estense’.

The junta – at the request of the Bianchina Club Association – gave the go-ahead for the event and the display of the cars in Piazza Castello and along the dock.

There are 35 cars (built from 1957 to 1969) which will park in Piazza Castello, the owners will lodge in structures in the area, they will also visit some of the most characteristic places in the province, and – over the same weekend – they will show off their vehicles between Castle and dock.

Conceived as a luxurious version of the Fiat Nuova 500, from which it used the chassis and mechanics, the Bianchina was presented to the public on 16 September 1957 at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan. Sales were immediately successful, so much so that they surpassed those of the original car, so Autobianchi decided to expand the range and improve its characteristics. In 1959 the engine power increased to 17 HP, while in 1960 the convertible and convertible versions were launched, then replaced in the ‘4-seater’ version, a saloon version with a closed roof. In 969 the Bianchinas went out of production, replaced by the ‘Giardiniera’.
