Exhibition events restart in China with Auto Shanghai 2023

Auto Shanghai 2023, the first major auto show in China after the lifting of Covid controls, will be held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center of the Yangtze city from April 18 to 27.
The program of the 20th edition of the Shanghai International Auto Industry Exhibition includes media days on April 18 and 19, April 20 and 21 as the dates reserved for professional visitors and finally the opening to the public from April 22 to 27 .
The last time the Shanghai Auto Show was held was from April 19 to 28, 2021, with about 1,000 exhibitors with a total exhibition area of 360 thousand square meters. Last year the Beijing Auto Show was scheduled from 21 to 30 April – according to the biennial alternation of the two major events – but was postponed to the beginning of April and definitively canceled on 10 November.
In 2022, the Chengdu Auto Show – which was inaugurated on August 26 – was also shortened by the remaining six days scheduled after just four days due to concerns about Covid. It had gone better for the Guangzhou exhibition event, originally scheduled for November 18-27 and then moved due to the limitations due to Covid to the period December 30 – January 8, 2023.
With the lifting of controls for the pandemic – writes Cnevpost.com – the Chinese government’s attention has shifted to promoting economic recovery.
An action plan to stabilize economic growth — released in late January — includes renewing a 10,000 yuan ($1,500) subsidy to encourage residents to replace their cars with electric vehicles.
Furthermore, the Government plan provides for the support and acceleration of the recovery through various events and exhibitions, including Auto Shanghai 2023.
